After a soothing break at the visitor centre - We're back to the same location ( around 5:00pm ) but at a different sandstone rock formation.
Temperature much more tolerable . Re-filled Ice cold water in previous gatorade container from the visitors centre ( that didnt last very long unfortunately ) ...
Shooting in direct sunlight wasn't my idea of getting the right exposure so we had to work around the lighting conditions based on the suns position.
While working in the shade, the color temperature often shifts to a cooler color in your shadow areas to a cyan/blue tint .. watch for that in post ... If you're wondering why the photos are black and white; its not because of the cyan color the shade gives ... its because we shot two main sets on one location. The color of the hat and her dress was also a reason why it was best for the conversion. A bit of variety always helps and I'm really happy with the results !
Just remember if you ever head down to the desert to shoot, probably best to go down there later in the afternoon ( or super early in the morning ). Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind going back again ... perhaps even explore the area, geocaching. A place like that, I would have loved to geo-tag photos and explore but sadly I wasn't able to get a data plan for my iPad because AT&T required an AMERICAN ADDRESS that needed to match my Credit Card. I was then advised to get a prepaid mastercard days later to which no one told me that you needed a social security number to activate ?!!? --- soo much hoopla.
