so the past week ive been blabbing about this thing called "Zbrush"... what is it ? its a 3D modelling program that looks incredibly intimidating to use but with ample tutorials and online help ( via youtube ) ... you can pump up some sculpts like this one ...Here's a 3D Skull I modelled in Zbrush 4r2 ...
This is my first attempt at organic 3D modelling with polyspheres . I got bored of the human skull's " Supraorbital Process " region so i stretched it out to make it look a bit more sinister . Believe it or not but the upper part of the skull took 30 mins to do ... However the jaw and teeth was a different story as i was trying to figure out how the hell to layer the teeth using #subtools to which 3 hours later revealed itself !! ... I still havent figured out how to render properly but used the default preview renderer built in . I have a feeling itll be mentalray or vray in #Maya that will do the job but that can wait ..The easiest part of this was adding the alpha channels to create the cracks and skull textures...You probably cant see it but I did make mistakes that i can see but that should help with my next 3D sculpt ....
Anyway lotsa fun with this one but also lots of trial and error with this first try to which im sure will prevail much better results later on ...
.: The Zbrush GUI isnt as intimidating after u actually learn it ...
anyone got any good tips in Zbrush ? im open to suggestions of course
