I don't download music ... I figure I get to hear at least a handful of good music through the radio and radio stations that broadcast online, which is enough for me.

Rarely do I ever buy online. Generally I buy CDs still. generally I can find then just as cheap as online, or cheaper if I buy from a charity shop. More importantly I can then put them onto my computer in any format I like. MP3 is not particulary good quality and although not particulary noticable there are moments when using MP3 are bad like when editing on FCP.

I read an article recently that iTunes was going to switch to streaming music instead of letting you download it. I suppose that has advantages if you listen to a LOT of stuff all the time.

Sadly enough there are no more independent music stores around me anymore and the conglomerates that chased them out of town don't sell the music I listen to. So... download it is.

I generally buy the albums..
I only download if the album is really expensive and/or impossible to find..
(Indie bands, J-Rock, etc..)

Yes but from a site called 7Digital, they're high quality (Bit rate) than itunes and are stored in an online locker so you can download you music again should you lose/have stolen/blow up you MP3 player.

I don't download music, but I use www.grooveshark.com because you can make a playlist of music and save it to the site itself. No downloading of program or music required. It saves a lot of space on your computer lol.

I hit up Best Buy every Tuesday for the new CD releases. The artists went to the trouble of designing a CD cover and inside artwork - I think it's only fair to support every aspect of a musician's creativity...plus I like to have the actual physical item, rather than just some file on my computer.

I have a LOT Of music, some of it seems to have accidentally found it's way into my collection, but a lot I still buy on CDs and some I buy electronically.

I'm a fan of old music (Dance music from the 90's). I'll either cope with a free MP3 version found on the Internet, or will try to get my hands on the CD or 12" version from a second hand music store or seller.

Some of this music is being re-released on special DJ digital stores so whenever I get the chance I buy them, since it's pretty much the only way left to support the artist. :lmao:

Every once in awhile there is a band or artist that has an iTunes exclusive so I'll get that. But for the most part I still enjoy buying CD's. Why? Because there is no better feeling than opening up that extremely super wrapped plastic and than looking through the booklet that comes with it.

My computer doesn't read cds, so I can't rip my own mp3s - which means I will bend over backwards to buy my music in mp3 format instead of buying a disc. X3

I lost my iTunes downloads when switching computers and they tried to force me to buy them all over again. Never going to buy an iTune again.

if you paid for the song/music/movie/ they have records of all the things you bought which you wont have to pay for ;

.... theres no way they will force you to buy it again unless you forgot your appleID --

I was using the same appleID but iTunes would not let me download any of the songs I had purchased on my old computer. I think I could have contacted them and complained but it wasn't worth fighting over.

Oddly I can download the iPhone/iPod apps over and over and over on multiple devices with no problem, but songs, it wont let me.

Actually I said never but that's not _quite_ true
But only if something isn't available on cd I guess
And I don't download almost at all these days, unlike what I used to be like

There's still something something nice about collecting cds :D

The artists I really like and support, I buy their CD when I see them at a concert. I support local and smaller, less known musicians. I do sometimes download music from other sites like off Youtube, or the youknowwhat sites... :(. But I also pay for satelite radio which supports artists and stuff. But mostly I buy music from musicians when I see them live! Help them to make a living and tour across the country.
